Secure Access and Authentication

Authorized VeriSign staff gain entry to areas of the SOC through tiered levels of access, including biometric, card-key, and PIN-based authentication, and are under constant video surveillance. VeriSign employees only have access to the information required to safeguard client networks. Analysts connect to client systems using a proxy device called the Jump Server and an authentication token with access restrictions based on profiles. The Jump Server accesses the device under management, concealing the password from the analyst. The system logs keystrokes and audits all interactions with each device.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans

Multiple layers of physical infrastructure redundancy include redundant, high-speed Internet connections, fully redundant utilities, and detailed disaster recovery procedures. VeriSign's processes employ the highest level of standards, set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). MSS operations are SAS 70 certified and the data centers are BSI 7799 certified.
